We have been reading the Mitten this past week. Again with this book we made predictions about the story using the title and the cover picture. We also listed the animals we would most likely encounter in the story. To do so we used our letter/sound knowledge and sounded out the first letter of the animal's name.
This week we will retell the story using stuffed animals. Students will then get a chance to colour their own animals and retell the story using a "mitten". This will be a centre activity and will take approximately a week for all students to complete. They will be encouraged to use their "props" to retell the story at home to you.
